it depends on the minerals that come naturally in your city's water. Try various brands of bottled water. But what I have found is the case for me is that I just get used to it. After I've been drinking mostly water for awhile, it doesn't taste so bad anymore, especially if I'm thirsty.

The water its self doesn't have an aftertaste, its the minerals in the water that leave the taste. This is most likely chlorine, plus any other minerals found in the pipes.

My sister is incredibly sensitive to the minerals in water, what makes it taste perfect to me is disgusting to her. That may be the case with you too. She only drinks distilled water now.....try it dude.....and lay off the pot!
