You will only find out when you're dead. Anything we say about what happens after death now is merely speculation.

First of all, when you die, your dead. But, you don't stay dead forever. The Bible teaches that death is a sleep
(Matthew 9:24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.)
You will wake up in one of two ressurections.
( Acts 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. )
The just will arise in the first resurrection, and the wicked will arise in the scond resurrection which is a thousand years later. The two resurrections are separated by a millenium.
(Rev. 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. )
The wicked will finaly be destroyed forever in the lake of fire.
( Rev. 9:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.)
The just will live forever with Jesus in the new Jerusalem on planet earth made new.
( Rev. 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. Rev.21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Rev.21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. )
So there you have it.

God's inspired word the Bible clearly shows that when we die the spirit or life force returns to the true God who gave it, the spirit is not a personality or some part of us that is immortal like a soul that most people have been fooled into believing in but just the force that animates us. Genesis 2:7 clearly shows that we are a soul and Ezekiel 18:4 clearly shows that the soul that is sinning, it itself will die. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, so we all die. Ecclesiastes 9:5,10 clearly shows that we are just dead; 5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they have anymore wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 10 All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She'ol, the place to which you are going.

Ever since I read about it in Terry Pratchett's fiction books, I've been enamored with this idea:
Whatever you believe, happens, to you, at least. Therefore Vikings went to Valhalyia for endless fighting and drinking and other fun stuff, Christians go to the heaven they imagine, those who believe in reincarnation come back again, and for those who believe in nothing, they just wink out like a candle flame. There's no universal way for everyone, just us and our beliefs influencing reality (as they do while we're alive).
It's always been my favorite idea, and it doesn't hurt that believing it takes away a lot of the stuff that currently divides us in a bad manner.

I believe in personal truth, meaning that if Mary believes that she will go to Heaven when she dies, she will go to Heaven when she dies; if Joe believes in reincarnation, he will be reincarnated; if Lucy doesn’t believe in an afterlife, than she will just cease to exist.
I also believe in ghosts as the spirits of animals (including humans) stuck in the plane of the living after their physical bodies die, and that you can become a ghost several different ways. If you believe you will become a ghost, than that’s a given; if you’re unsure of what will happen after you die, you will be stuck as ghost until you figure it out; if you do not fulfill at least one lesson or goal predetermined (by fate) for you to complete, you will be stuck as a ghost, incapable of moving on into the afterlife, until whatever is left incomplete is accomplished; if someone is unable to cope with your death, than their grasp on you will hold you back from moving on, as a ghost, until they find closure; or if you have some sort of personally set goal you wish to finish before leaving, you have the chance to do so as a ghost before moving on.
As far as where everyone ends up, I envision rolling, grassy hills with lush flora and frolicking fauna. The grass is always soft and green, the air is always fresh and clean, there are flowing streams of pure, clear water, and it cycles through days with a sun, and nights with a moon and stars. It is a place of passage, where those who have died may wait for those they left behind, and then either move on to an eternal afterlife of their own imaginations, or pass on to be reborn into a new body, be it plant, animal (including human), or some unknown life form (unknown to us humans of earth, that is). I imagine there would be other planes that serve this same purpose, but fashioned as more familiar environments, for other worlds.
I know that we have souls - it's just one of those feelings. Perhaps I can try to explain. If you take apart a watch, and separate every single piece, and then put it back together exactly how it was, it will run just like it did before (provided the battery still works). If you take apart a human being, and separate every single part, and then put it back together, it will never work again - ever. We are more than the sum of our parts. We can keep people "alive" on machines that can work to pump our heart, breathe for us, and even have tubes going to our stomach providing us nourishment. But if those machines stopped, the body would die. This is also true for animals AND plants - we all have some immaterial, intangible essence that gives us life. That is our soul. Every living thing has one.

According to the Vedic Knowledge - Whatever ones consciousness at the time of death is what they will attain. If one thinks of God (Krishna, Allah, Jehovah) at the time of death they are sure to attain His abode. If one thinks of any material attachment they return to the material world into one of the 8,400,000 species of life depending on their consciousness to get a chance to serve again. If one totally misused their human form of life and did not make any spiritual advancement they can even go into a lower species of life like a dog. Animals eat sleep mate and defend and so do humans but the one thing that separates the two is the ability to question ones existence and what is their relationship with God. If they have very good karma they go to one of the heavenly planets for 10,000 years or more and after that is up they return to earht to get another chance to understand their eternal relationship with God. If they have very bad karma (reaction to sinful activities) they go to one of the hellish planets until that time is up and then return to earth to try again. If one has a combination of good and bad karma they return to Earth. 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed , or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Our energy slowly dissipates into the surroundings. Then bacteria begin to decompose the body. Eventually, we become a part of the everything all around us and allow other life to be created by giving t.our own energy and matter to help the creation.
There is no heaven, there is no hell. It's simply the cycle of life. We're all born, we all die, then we help other life by giving ourselves to that life.
Contrary to Christians, I don't find that frightening at all. It means no one I love is really gone. They're still with me, all around me. I find it comforting.

First you die and then the judgement.
"it has been appointed to every person, once to die and then the judgement".
After that you pay the price for your own sins (hell for all eternity) or you start enjoying the rewards for all the good things you did after you became a Christian. Even if you didn't do much good after you were saved, you still get to enjoy Heaven for all eternity because Jesus died for your sins and you are free to spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord.
