There is a famous saying in China" It doesn't matter how high the mountain is, the sacred spirit makes the mountain distinctive!" So in China, you can never find a beautiful mountain without a temple on it!

First, there are five most sacred mountains in China, we honor them like "the mountain among mountains"!! They are named/selected from all over China, one for each direction: The East Sacred Mountain: Mount Taishan in Shandong Province which is famous for its sunrise. The South Sacred Mountain: Mount Hengshan in Hunan Province which is famous for its historic sites. The West Sacred Mountain: Mount Huashan in Shaanxi Province which is famous for its extreme sharp cliffs. The North Sacred Mountain: Mount Hengshan in Shanxi Province famous for its Suspending Temple. The Central Sacred Mountain: Mount Songshan in Henan Province is famous for the Shaolin Temple - the legend birth place of martial arts!

Second, as the dominant religion, Buddhism has quite a influence in mountains too. The four famous Buddhism mountains are: Mount Jiuhua in Anhui province; Mount Putuo in Zhejiang province; Mount Ermei in Sichuan province and Mount Wutai in Shanxi province.

Third, there are also four great Taoism mountains: Mount Wudang in Hubei province, Mount Longhu in Jiangxi province, Mount Qingcheng in Sichuan Province and Mount Lao in Shandong Province.

Of course, there is also Mount Everest whose summit also known as Mt. Qomolongma in China- the tallest peak in the world!

Hopefully this will give you a good start, if you need any further info, you can contact me at our website: http://www.jiasdreamtours.com
