Yes. There is a chemical called theobromide in dogs that causes liver failure. 4 oz of cocoa powder can kill a labrador. Doggie chocs are made from carob not cocoa and do not contain the poisonous ingredient.

Yes. There's a chemical in chocolate that is highly toxic to dogs. What that amount is that's lethal will vary from dog to dog and what type of chocolate it is - the darker the chocolate, the more toxic it actually is. (Baker's chocolate is the most lethal thing a dog could its paws on!)
While eating one chocolate chip probably won't kill your Rottweiler, it's best to not even let any dog of any size get a taste for it.

It's a stimulant for cats and dogs that can literally make their hearts work too hard. Small dogs are especially prone to dying from an overdose of chocolate.

Its not good. The real bad stuff has lots of cocoa content. This can be poisonous if enough is ingested.
