i was wondering you could buy a cable that you could plug a s video one end and have it plug into a regular yellow video cable slot

Radioshack sells a rca to s-video adapter but im not sure how well it works

YEP! I had to do that very same thing. As one of the other responders said, Radio Shack has that device. It does the job very well.

Two different types of video connections. It probably won't work.
