It varies, but often kids start to feel like their all grown up around that age, thinking they know all the essentials about life. Fortunately, that insufferable condition doesn't usually last longer than a couple years as they quickly discover they know nothing about life.
I'm pushing 40, and I still feel more grown up every year, and am still learning life lessons.

It's a stage. Ur gonna feel this way every yr until u are older and wish u were younger( when Ur in Ur 30's)
Enjoy being a teen now sweetie cause when Ur older yoUr gonna realize the the young yrs are the times u should have enjoyed it, being older only is good when it's good. U gonna have more responsibilities, ur gonna have to pay more, DO MORE and u not gonna have to reply on Ur parents to bail u out all the time.
So enjoy being a teen
And if u want to feel older that's fine as long as u mean doing the right things that will not cause u trouble with Ur parents, teachers and the law. Don't give in to peer pressUre it comes back to hunt u and ur parents so stay Say from those who try to pressure u into anything u don't want to do and that u know will cause u grief.
Good Luck
I know how u feel anyone over 30 knows how u feel

You should never feel like you NEED to feel older than you are, nor any younger.
Anytime you feel young/immature, keep this in mind: at age 16, you are also 15, 14, 10, 5, etc...you've been through all those experiences; they don't just go away because you have now got the new experience of being 16. So you can be any of those ages you want. But the only thing you can't be is older because you haven't done that yet.
The quickest way to age, I would say, is to do new things and meet new people (try listening more than talking), go new places if you can. The more you do this, the more wisdom you'll pick up naturally and you'll seem older. Also you can learn, and expand your mind.

Well if u have older cousins or brothers or sister or wateva hang out with there regular crowd and then soak in how they act and then u will see how it feels to be older i guess. But at the same time it is normal to feel younger it is not good just to be all up tight when u get older so let ur inner child come out every once and a while!

No, I'm older than, but I still enjoy feeling like a kid in some instances at least. You'll only be sixteen once. Once you age, you may try to fool folks into thinking you the same age 4 years in a row.

I know exactly how your feeling and let me tel you that in some ways wish I was still 14 or15 because when you turn 16 to much is demanded of you. My advice is don't try to grow up to fast and just do what needs to be done and have some fun with it, that's what I do.

Nope.
The truth is that you won't be "grown up" for about another 10 years. By then you will be out of school, have started a career, taken responsibility for yourself, laid down the foundation for your morality, etc.
Growing up takes time. Those that rush it are the ones are in failed jobs, failed relationships, still living with mommy, etc.

i just turned 17 two months ago, and yes...feeling like that was a phase i went through.
i felt like i wasn't 16. sometimes i felt too old for 16, but i also felt too young for 16. it felt weird...like a mixture of stuff..and i think that's what 16 is supposed to feel like. 16 is the age we start really start to figure out who we are, and so we'll feel like we're all over the place. don't worry you'll be fine. savour your 16th year. =D

it depends what mood you're in. you are getting older, so you should feel alittle grown up. but part of you is missing being a little girl. this is totally normal, so just go with it. You'll be fine!
