Go slow. Unravel his personality slowly. Except for the important things like, are you married, etc.

Asking questions is good, as long as it isn't overdone or done like an interrogation, it shows interest. Just ask the questions when it feels right. For example, if you watched a good movie last night, mention it and how you felt about it, then ask him what movies he likes. Just remember, though, that your likes and dislikes don't have to match perfectly. It's good to have some similar interests, but don't freak out if one of you loves a movie and the other hates it. Also, getting to know someone really well, intimately, takes time, so be patient. It could take months or sometimes even years, and even then, you may not know everything there is to know about them, I personally think this is a good thing, you're never done, there's always more to explore and learn.

Open your senses & be observant. Sometimes you can tell a lot about a person just from what they wear, how they react, etc. but if you don't feel that observant... then just ask. Perhaps a "game" of 20 questions would be fun. Just don't over do it & turn it into 120 questions. ;) Take turns asking each other likes & dislikes, or strike up a conversation about whatever it is you want to know.

First of all, it isn't about getting all the information up front. It is all about connection. Talk about other stuff and the details will come into the conversation later. If you want to get all the info up front to just impress them, then you have it all wrong. Be yourself and just spend time with them, it will happen.

Getting to know someone takes time. You don't need to do the 20 questions thing.

It is better to observe and listen to him.
You can tell a lot about a person from what he or she says if you know how to interpret.
For example it is preferable to hear him call you beautiful rather than 'hot chick". His language will tell you about what is important to him or what is not.

Just talk about what you like, and see if he likes it as well... mention it casually, not so obviously that he'll be able to tell you're dispensing question after question... :-) gl!! Take it slowly... you don't have to ask him all about it at one time? Or, you can ask him for his screenname or email, so that you can talk to him more... it's understandable to ask more online...

Be casual, don't worry about seeming silly. Find a common interest and go with it!
