Start with walking 30 mins. Then a month latertry 1 hour, then in 3 weeks later, 1 hour and a half. Then a month later walk 2 hours. Dont forget to bring some music to listen to while you walk!

I do, actually it's not that complicated at all, just make sure you have some good gym shoes and a bottle of water. Don't walk two hours away, just walk an hour away and then at the end of that hour turn around and walk the hour back...so by the time you get home, you will be tired but you'll be home. If you run out of water, depending on where you will be walking you may have no problem finding a water fountain near by. WIthin a week, you will certainly notice a difference in your lower legs, you'll even be more energized.

at a 15 min mile walking speed. (4 miles an hour) 2 hours is 8 miles.
I usually do that a few times a week. though now the days are real short. so if i want to do a two hours walk and do not want to walk in the dark, I'll need to start at 2:30PM . cut your walking time in the winter to 11/2 hours that is still 5.5 miles still very respectable. keep up the good walk(work). I do the same.

I've done that, when I was unemployed and had time on my hands. It will make a real difference to your fitness level.

But you don't have to do it all at once. Add twenty or thirty minutes to your morning routine -- for example, you could get off the bus early and walk the final mile to work, most people can walk a mile in twenty minutes if they push themselves a bit; and you can run up and down the stairs for a few minutes before sitting down to eat your lunch.

Good luck.

The key is to walk with a girlfriend. Just think how many times have you talked on the phone with a girlfriend and didn't realize you were on for so long. Same thing.

I use to walk 5 miles a day with my girlfriend. It never seemed like work because we had so much fun chackling
