The better question is What should you do to YOU! If it was chocolate, it could be fatal..If it was sugar, you are in for a belly ache and the runs...Yep, its you that needs the correction, as the dog was just doing what comes natural..
Please don't even scold him, as he will think you are daft, and won't have a clue as to what the punishment is for..

DO NOT, and i repeat DO NOT hit him. He is but a dog, and unless he JUST ate it, he won't know why. And you shouldn't scream, yell, or hit any pet. And you certainly don't (quote:what should i do to him?) do things to him. That's called "animal abuse", no matter how minor.
You should say" Bad _____{name}. Don't do again."
And anyways, if you had chocolate in your Halloween candy, which you probably did, check up with a vet. Chocolate contains things that could fatally hurt a dog.
Sorry about your candy...better luck next year :(!

I sympathize. At age 16, I got my first box of chocolates in a red heart-shaped box from a boy. I was thrilled! Then the dumb dog ate the whole thing! I was so mad!!!
No point in hitting it. Spankings aren't effective unless you catch them in the act. Even then it doesn't always help. I have a dog who fights our other dog and nothing I can do will stop it. I just have to keep them separated.

My chocolate lab did the same thing. Make sure you get the dog outside as much as possible, because all the chocolate comes out his other end. My dog ended up having his loose bowel movements all over my carpet!! What a mess.
Pepto bismol helps, get him to drink as much has he can, to get all the crap out of his system. Just keep an eye on him. I'm sure he'll be fine.

The local newscaster's chocolate lab ate his owner's sweater. My cocker spaniel ate a WHOLE SKEIN of pink 4 ply yarn. My Pomeranian jumped onto the kitchen table during the night and ate a 9x13" Mississippi Mud cake! She ate the whole thing.

1. Take him to the vet.
2. Don't leave candy where dogs can get it.
3. Never have a 'fricking' pet again. Leave that to the animal lovers.

Did you catch him/her in the act? If so you should have yelled at him/her and put him/her outside or in the kennel. If you didn't catch him/her then it's to late. But you better get it to the vet if there was some chocolate in the cand y, That's poison to dogs. It will also have diarihha.

its not good for dogs to have candy, especially chocolate. wait a little bit to see what happens. if your lab seems sick then you might want to take him to a vet.
