Most religious folk do accept evolution, it is really only in the USA that you have this problem, and it really is a problem.
Edit:
And no nothing makes a difference, all the information is out there, they just put their hands over their ears, its really not about evidence, they don't have a problem with the theory of relativity which is way more difficult and controversial than evolution.

I don't really think they would accept it even if they did understand. Just take a look at some of the replies from religious folk here. (Notice how they're all Christian?)
For example, IL Padrino, talks about the Big Bang, which has nothing to do with the Theory of Evolution. And he has the nerve to say you're confused about Evolution. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.
Look at the answer after his.
Notice how they both talk about Evolution in terms of their religion? They're trying to compare their religion to a scientific theory. Can you imagine if they did that for Gravitational Theory? How absurd would that be?
This issue isn't one of understanding, although many of those who reject evolution do not properly understand it.
Here's an idea. Try polling people on whether they accept evolution or not and whether they have a literal interpretation of the Bible. I think you'll find that rejection of evolution corresponds with literal interpretation of the Bible. The rejection of evolution is more to do with the fact that the ones rejecting it, feel that their worldview is threatened.
Hindus, for example, don't have an issue with Evolution, as it doesn't conflict with their ideas of origin. Buddhists don't really care about origins and they don't have an issue with Evolution either.

in all likelihood yet another clinical theory which will with a bit of luck and finally be understood by technique of both Factions, and may want to be agreed on. the most in all chance agument will be arguing the existence of a Christian's deity or some sh*t like that. all the favourite crap.

Unfortunately, many evolutionISTS DO make that claim. And yes, some ppl will still believe the '6000 year' thing even though it's NOT in the Bible.

Many Christians don't hold to a 6,000 year-old earth, but still don't believe in evolution. There are some theistic evolutionists, but there are some major philisophical and theological problems with evolution...and there's no real proof of macro evolution anyway.

Evolutionists are confused about their own theory. "Doesn't claim anything about the origins of life"?
That goes against many other evolutionists ideas on here.
What do you call the big bang?
If evolution was such a non-debatable, exact science, why can't the scientific community agree on its processes and information?
Evolutionists are part of a religion and they don't even realize it. At least Christians and others admit we follow a religion. When will you realize that it takes just as much faith to believe in the big bang as it does in God?

It takes more faith to believe in evolution even though it is impossible than it does to believe in God. Humans invented evolution in our modern world trying to get away from God. God has always been around since before the beginning of time.

i will only believe it when someone tells me that evolution isn't about coming from apes. I'm sorry but i think we are a lot better built than them. I am an animal lover, i did not come from an animal.
