I say pe-cawn, myself. My family is from southern GA, so that might have something to do with it. I have heard people also say pee-con. Guess it just depends on where you're from. I don't notice any particular way or the other in the Midwest.

pa-cawn or recently...turkey feed! I go out back and step on several dozen and turkey Dinner #1 and turkey Dinner #2 just gobble it up! They not only love to eat them but they call the nut PA-CAWN too. :)

In Britain, we say Pea-Can - we like to think we're right about this sort of thing!

Pe-cawn (or pe-con). I used to be a baker and that's how everyone in the profession I ever met pronounced it.

Pe-con. My aunt taught Englsih at the collage level and that's the way I always heard her say it when she was talking about the great nut rolls she baked at Christmas time.
