If you don't know what you want, don't get one just to get one.
Every tattoo I have is a symbol of something that is important in my life. I will be able to look back when I'm 80 years old and explain to my grandkids the significance of every tattoo. My body is like a scrapbook.
Too many people just up and get something that looks cool or seems to fit them at that particular moment in time. They end up hating it later. Don't just go on a whim. Only you know yourself well enough to know what you're going to want on your body for the rest of your life. What is important to you? What do you want to see on your body, looking like an inky blob in 50 years while you explain it - with FONDNESS - to your grandkids? Keep that stuff in mind when choosing. Tattoos should never be a mistake or fashion statement. They should be an artistic expression of who you are, as a person.

You should get a butterfly with some cherry blossoms floating around it. I think that would be a pretty cute, and I watch Miami Ink a lot and I want to be a tattoo artist, so, I know what I'm talking about. Maybe you could pick out a flower like an orchid or something and have a butterfly or a fairy or something else kind of hovering in the middle. Anything could work.....

If you are doing your ankles, which will be seen when you wear skirts, make sure that it is something that you can take with you when and if you get a job that permits being properly dressed. That's why all of my tattoos can be covered by clothing because I work in a corporate company. But I think your initials would be cute one on each ankle.

Do you have any preference for animals or flowers or anything at all. I plan on getting an anklet of cat paw prints on my right ankle and a black cat with butterfly wings on my left. You may have guessed I am cat mad. You should put something you have a strong liking to.
