You analogize God as a crayon in a box. How many crayons are in this box? 8? 16? or maybe a jumbo box of 64!?

You have misperceived God. He is not one of many in a box.
He is Lord of lords; King of kings.

Therefore, if anything works in your analogy, God is the box, not a single crayon.

The scripture that you reference is in the old testament. Since this time things have changed so much and to such a great extent that we cannot even fathom it.

Those people, mentioned in that verse, had been warned. They had been instructed in exactly how to get that the job done (moving the ark) and they had disobeyed (they tried to look into the ark.) The very power of the universe dwelt in that box. That is how much God wants to dwell among his people - even if it is dangerous! But just like everything else there is a safe way to do every task and God had told them how to do this the safe way.

They didn't listen.

This is very similar to the fatality that occurred at Wal-Mart recently. Look it up on internet news. Sombebody was working on some electrical equipment and something went wrong and the power panel was energized with 12000 volts and the flash that occurred burned one worker over 95% of his body and the other one was much injured and he is suing everybody in sight.

The people in that scripture were burned up because they came in contact with billions of volts of electricty - they, in their spiritually dead condition, standing their contaminated with all of their sins tried to look inside the box where God Himself had allowed his presence to be made manifest.

Today, things are different. Today we can be cleansed from all the effects of our sin by receiving Jesus as our Lord and being born again. Then that power of billions of volts of electricity that burned those people alive just like that electrician, that very power resides on the inside of us who are born again. It is that same spirit of truth that is writing this to you now.

Just try it. Say this "Jesus! I don't know if all this stuff is true or not, but if it is I want to accept it!"

Watch what happens!

I don't get this!
Doesn't the saying go more like "not the brightest crayon in the box"? I think you have mixed your metaphors, I have heard of "not the sharpest pencil in the box" however

Curiosity killed the cat...
What else would you expect when you open a billion coulomb capacitor?
Besides, they were being disrespectful. Not just curious.

Of course he does.

Knowledge, doubt, reason, and critical thinking are the greatest weapons of all against superstition.
