Things like the tooth fairy, easter bunny, and santa clause were taght to be the magical figures our parents taught us to make life more fun or atleast keep us interested in our not always so fun family gatherings...

What makes you so sure that 'God' wasn't the same 'lets give our children hope' but explain to them when they're old enough that it was all imaginary?

ALSO... Would you be really that suprised if we went back in time to talk to Jesus and it turns out he was pulling a prank on some of his buddies? Not to mention, if someone today said 'my dad is a burning bush that created the world'... we would just send him ti drug rehab.

Thousands of years ago, the very first individual who looked at creation and wondered where it came from, was not told by his mother that GOD created all this. GOD is not an individual like Santa or the tooth fairy, GOD is not even a being.

GOD is essentially uncreated existence. This entity is the womb and source from which all creation is born. GOD is pure Nothingness. You will never see nothing, or touch nothing or ever experience nothing, because its not there. Yet from this nothing comes You.

Don't we have enough lies, do we want to create even more?

JESUS CHRIST was accused of being a drunkard, a glutton, a Sabbath breaker, a false witness, a blasphemer of God, and a messenger of Satan. He was also accused of being subversive.—Matthew 9:34; 11:19; 12:24; 26:65; John 8:13; 9:16; 19:12.

After Jesus’ death and resurrection, his disciples were likewise the target of serious accusations. One group of first-century Christians were dragged to the city rulers by people crying out: ‘These men have overturned the inhabited earth.’ (Acts 17:6) On another occasion the apostle Paul and his companion Silas were taken to the authorities and charged with greatly disturbing the city of Philippi.—Acts 16:20.

Paul was later accused of being a “pestilent fellow and stirring up seditions among all the Jews throughout the inhabited earth” and of trying “to profane the temple.” (Acts 24:5, 6) The principal men of the Jews in Rome accurately described the situation of Jesus’ followers when they acknowledged: “For truly as regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.”—Acts 28:22.

Evidently, this new group established by Jesus Christ was considered by some to be a religious group with radical views and practices that clashed with what was accepted in those days as normal social behavior. Undoubtedly, many today would have considered the Christians a destructive cult. The accusers were often prominent and respected members of the community, and this seems to have added weight to the allegations. Many believed the accusations against Jesus and his disciples. Yet, we as Christian know, every one of these charges was false! The fact that people said these things did not make them true.

Was this a caracter one would invent for a mith or fable? HARDLY!

God does not lie. So I don't think that he would "Play" lets give our children hope. Things like Santa, and the Easter bunny, did not originate from Christianity. It is Pagan related. Christianity adopted the belief. It actually has nothing to do with The one true God or his holy Son.

i do no longer think in faith, i think in God. faith is what created the illiberal holy rollers who leap down surely all human beings's throats. It sucks because of the fact the folk who get each and all of the attention are people who're making a great scene like, oh idk, the Crusades, or clergymen doing nasty issues to little boys. this is the face that has been painted for Christianity, and it somewhat is grow to be completely villainized. as far because of the fact the Bible is going, I take it with a grain of salt because of the fact mutually because it somewhat is "God's word," people wrote it down. i think of particularly some it somewhat is propaganda from a misogynistic subculture: gays are evil, lady who do no longer undergo adult males are evil...yet adult males get off the hook... thrilling, huh? i'm a Christian because of the fact of existence journey. And as far as evidence is going, there have been many archaeological discoveries that returned up particular activities interior the Bible...

actually that is what ignorant people say and believe..people believing that doesnt supprise me. The tootfairy and all of that stuff DOES NOT compare to God, they dont have any evidence and the are certainly fallible which is in contrast to God and His Word. What will suprise me is if people would actually pick up the Bible, read, analyze, compare and research it along with it's teachings to finally come out with a conclusion...that will definetely surprise me

Very well put. I think the reason people hang on to Christianity is because it really is a nice story. It would be very nice to know that there's a guy up there who loves you no matter what, who forgives you when you do something wrong, who's constantly looking out for you, and who will reward you with "everlasting life" if you accept him and follow some rules. But it would also be very nice to know that there's a magical being who leaves you money under your pillow in exchange for your teeth. Just because it's a nice thought, it doesn't make it true.
