I was thinking of getting a tattoo of a toe ring and I was wondering how you would take care of it.

I know after my last 2 tats, I wasn't allowed to having anything covering it (especially tight clothing). Well, I must wear socks at work and it is too cold (and wet) to wear flip flops to class.

How do I get around this?

Also, anyone have a tattoo like this? How did you stand it? I'm ticklish on my foot. I imagine it will hurt since it is so close to bone.

Thoughts?

I got a tattoo on the top of my foot, and had to wear socks and shoes for work as well... so i know your dilema. What I did was I put on a fresh coat of A&D ointment (thats what my artist told me to use for healing) and then folded a napkin and stuck it in between my tattoo and the sock (so the sock didn't rub and hurt and so it didn't get stuck). Then, I would just sneak off to the bathroom every once and a while and put on a fresh coat of the ointment and change out the napkin. The key is just making sure you don't let your new decoration get dried out...

It does hurt a bit in the beginning, but your body produces adrenaline so it isnt so bad. I was perfectly fine until Teddy (my artist) went to change colors then my foot would jump really bad. It was actually kinda funny!

Good Luck!

I have a toe tattoo. It's really cute but hurt like Heck!
I don't do anything special to take care of it but I always make sure I put sunscreen on it the summer so it doesn't fade.

good luck!

the care for tattoos on your toes and fingers is very simple. put a&d on it three times a day. don't worry about wrapping it up if you wear socks but if you wear flip flops just put a band aid around your toe for the two weeks it takes to heal. i have a tattoo on my thumb and i never did anything to it and it still looks good. it hurts on your fingers and toes but it's too cute to dwell on. it feels like they are on FIRE until it's over with. once it's over it doesn't hurt. good luck with you tat.

toes dont hold ink real well... it will eventually fade. depending on how bad you want it, wait till summer when you can wear flip flops/sandals.. and you will be able to show it off with outtaking off your shoes and sox. or get it just before a 3 day weekend so you have those 3 days let it heal some with out being irritated by your shoes and sox.

I have a tat that goes down the top of my foot.. hurt like a MOTHER! and my foot was swollen for 2 or 3 days! and its a real PIA to take off my shoes/sox to show people....thats my thought on it.
