The truth is if you ask to pray for an atheist who is worried about his dog dying he will say, "No! I don't believe in God." But then if you ask, can I pray that God does his will to take your dog out of his misery. They say, "Don't do that!". Even the devils believe and tremble.

I do not make a positive confession of the non-existence of gods, merely that no convincing proof of gods has been offered, and thus the question is irrelevant to my life. I do make a positive confession that I have inquired sufficiently into a number of religions to conclude based on objective evidence that they are false, either in part or whole, including all three major middle eastern monotheisms, and that their doctrines and claims are either provably false via internal examination, such as Biblical inerrancy, or are supernatural claims that lack credible support, such as claims that an angel named Gabriel dictated the Koran to Mohamed while he was alone in a cave, or that Moses wrote the Pentateuch, or that an angel named Moroni presented Joseph Smith with gold plates containing the history of Israelites in the new world.
Considering the extraordinary claims of these religions, they should be able to proffer at least ordinary proofs, yet they cannot. We are therefor justified in dismissing them as mere assertions and frauds, based in unexamined superstition, myth and invention.

Atheism isn't a belief. It is flat out non-belief in god.
The probability of god's existing or not is left for the agnostics to ponder.

Technically, neither.
Atheists reject the act of believing. God isn't part of it.
