What does it mean to be honest?
At income tax time, do we tend to minimize our cheating saying they don't deserve it?
If we find a wallet full of money, do we promptly return it, or take some of it (money) and say that’s the way we found it?
How do we measure up to what we believe in?

Please be honest.

During inconvenience and hardship, lets say depression time, we are angry, do we steal? What about welfare, is free money? When visiting a hotel, do we take without asking?

I do measure up to that point of what I believe. I never cheat on my taxes, and yes, I would return money in a wallet (all of it) if I found one. I have even given store clerks back the change that they have given when they have given me too much back.

There's no reason for me to lie on my taxes about how much money I make, because I get it all back anyway. And if I found a wallet full of money, I'd give it back, no questions asked. My religion says harm none, and by stealing someone's money, I am harming them because they may not have enough money for food to feed themselves. But it really comes down to morals, and what my mother taught me at a young age.

Jesus set a good example of paying his taxes to Caesar.

Jesus commands us to tell the truth always and face the consequences but also teaches us to be merciful when we learn of others deciet and impropriaty.

If we became a more forgiving people I think the result would be that more people would be willing ot be honest.

If you have to ask yourself if what you are doing is wrong, then it probably is. Honesty is listening to that gut feeling that keeps you on the right path. GOD bless
