Females are easier to train than males. If you get a male neutered before he starts hikeing his leg that really is a big help in housebreaking. If your dog is trained he will go to the door and let you know when he wants to go outside or you can papertrain him. I have 2 Yorkies in my house they are papertrained and never go outside.

I'm assuming that if it doesn't poop on your floor, or if it responds to simple commands, then it is trained. That's what the training is supposed to teach them, right?
