Because the prosecutors don't normally try someone unless they believe they have the evidence to prove it. So if someone is up for trial, there are good chances they are guilty.

People never know the whole story and by the time they do, they've already made up their minds of the negavite stuff anyway. people would rather believe the ugly stuff than the truth. My son was innocent, but he's in prison anyway. it's a long story. They say your innocent til proven guilty , but that's a bunch of crap, otherwise they wouldn't put you in jail and hold you til you see the judge and get a court date.right? Also, the lawyers are in it just for the points. the more people they get off the docket the better it looks to the judge. It doesn't matter whether that person is really innocent or guilty but how fast they can get the case resolved. The more resolved , the more cases they are given (the lawyers) and they get more popular with the judge. Lawyers want to become judges someday you know.

I don't know if most people do that or not. What I do is, I get as many facts about the case as I can from MULTIPLE news sources (that way I am confident that its not just the source being bias) and then I make a decision based on the facts I have heard. And there have been plenty of times when I heard about a case and thought the defendant(s) were not guilty. Case in point: The Duke Lacrosse case.

I believe that people assume that people on trial are guilty because in this world it is supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty" but the police always seem to make it guilty until proven innocent. I've never understood why they say that anyway...if you are arrested it is usually cause someone thinks your guilty...I know in some cases its not but the majority is handled that way

Most people believe in the Justice System, and they think that the people won't arrest someone who is not guilty. Just because someone is found Not Guilty, doesn't mean they aren't guilty.

For the most part, people trust the police and the judicial system. Many times when someone is brought into the courtroom, you can look at them and tell they are not the most trustworthy person. I am not talking about the way they are dressed but the way they act, their demeanor, and attitudes toward other persons in the courtroom.

The prosecution had enough evidence to pursuit a case against the subject. The Grand Jury though there was enough evidence to proceed.

It is because people get their information from news sources and most of what you hear from the media is speculation.
