Now if you're in school, there's the guidance office.
If you live near a church....regardless of what church, there are ministers priests and such....who can offer guidance or know of an agency where you can get counseling.
Don't stop telling your story until you get the help you need....and sometimes a teachers helps, sometimes family, sometimes friends....and most of all yourself.
Make a few lists:
1. Of what you like
2. Of where you'd like to travel
3. Of what you'd like to study next
4. Of what you hate.
5. Of who was mean to you.
6. Make a special list of all things that have hurt you....and take that list...when you're done and tear it into a milliion pieces and throw it away.
7. Train yourself to put your thoughts down on paper until you get the help you need....sometimes it helps to read what your thoughts are.
8. Train yourself to ask GOD for help...there is no story that GOD has not heard before....and GOD's waiting for you to ask for help.
9. Call your friends...sometimes just to say hi.....and remember to smile.....whenever you pass a mirror...just to start...and then smile at yourself always!
Think if you don't feel close to GOD, who moved?

Look at free clinics and see what they have to offer for consuling. Also Universitys most of the time offer free or sliding scale consuling. Most of the time it is sliding scale, they look at your paystubs and see how much you should have to pay or not for the visit. I dont know where you are other wise i could look it up for you online. But there are a lot of places that either offer free, or very small fees for consuling. And if you are religous ( i am not) yes the church will help you. Good luck. ~A

Call your local County Health Clinic and see if they offer free Mental Health options. Many, even here in Arkansas, offer a visiting psychiatrist or psychologist that come around at least once a month and base it on your pay (if you have any). So, call your free county health clinic today and find out!

I would go to any church before going to a hospital. Hospitals are great for saving physical lives...broken bones etc....but sincerely 99% of the time if you have "problems" they will prescribe you a medication...that is not going to make the problems go away....
So go to a church if you need to :) but you might want to research your problem and aside from medication what can be done about it.
Good luck :)

Call or go to the hospitals where you live and ask them your question. They can guide you. You asked a general question which depends on where, in the USA you live. Each city is different.
