He replaced the rotors and ignition wires. Everything else looked fine. My question is...does anyone else have a Volvo with a check engine light on when there is nothing else wrong? Is it a common Volvo thing?

Your mechanic should be able to connect a "scanner" and be able to explain why the "check-engine"lite is on. The problem could be related to what he did or should have done. It could have come on for a completely different reason, give "your mechanic" an opportunity to fix it first, if unable to , another volvo tech.can! Good luck!

Sometimes when you don't fasten the gas cap till you hear a click it will trigger your check engine light to come on. You May be able to check what has triggered it your self by going to discount auto parts or auto zone they have a way of pulling codes off of your ecm. They will be able to tell you whats wrong if that doesn't work you may have to take it to a Volvo dealer. If you don't want to spend alot of money and you really think that nothings wrong with the car you may just want to disconnect the light in your dash. I know that sometimes it can be frustrating thing to look at when your driving.

frequently mine have yet mitsubishi's have a tendency to continually have belt issues (a minimum of the only's i have pushed). if that is operating on..... (you turn off the ignition and it maintains to chug away) you in all likelihood in basic terms want a provider
