I have been feeling low for a couple of weeks and seem not to be coping very well with stress. In the last week, I have had back ache, cold sores, feel tired and tearful alot. I was diagnosed with depression 3 years ago and take anti-depressents, any suggestions for picking myself up and feeling better?

Hello, the winter and dark nights are not going to help, but try and go for a walk each afternoon/evening to clear your head. This always makes me feel better especially if its near the sea.
For cold sores try Blizteze I swear by it.
Also try to eat lots of fruit and veg in your diet.
Good luck.

Cold sores- or also known as Herpes simplex feeds on stress, get rid of the stress factor and the herpes will settle down, never kiss anyone before the blisters break or until its scabbed over as its something you have for life and it would be unfair to pass it on, who was the **** that gave you it--??? cheer up-- it'll soon be Xmas--then Spring and its then summer again :o)

This sounds so corny, but try yoga. I have really bad anxiety and my doctor turned me onto it. Just tape some sessions from the tv if you have cable or get a beginner's dvd. At first you feel really stupid doing it, but even after the first time you will start feeling more relaxed and better. I know it seems so simple, but it helps.

Are you sure there isn't a bug going around - I have the same problems! I put it down to the fact that the weathers changing towards winter, boo hiss, and the clocks have gone back.
Go easy on yourself, its a crap time of year. Do something nice.

I just started taking B-12 vitamins, they seem to give me more energy. You should talk to your doctor. Have you had a physical exam lately? Maybe some blood tests could reveal the problem.
