Its not up to you to decide what is righteous.
But where does this effect on other people stop?
I mean I believe that killing people is wrong, but other people might not (in a scary way). I think the line is where someone's beliefs harms someone else. Being gay harms no one. So why is it wrong?

Why do people refer to homosexuality as "wrong" and a "problem"? - apparently God tells them to

Do you post questions on a Spiritual & Religion page and not know that homosexuality is wrong? Do you not read the Bible? Do you not believe God's law? If you are a homosexual, of course you don't. The book of Leviticus in the old testament, ch.18, v.22 says 'Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: IT IS ABOMINATION.' So you see, it is God that decides what is righteous. The book of Romans addresses homosexuality by both men and women. Ch.1 v.24-27 : 'Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts,to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.' So you see, being gay harms the one that is gay, which is only a politically correct term for what they really are, which is sodomites. You WILL be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone. Where it harms others is organizations like NAMBLA and other perverse organizations that try to force the reality of their abominations on others. TV is full of it. So don't get all self-righteous about being gay, because it is abomination, as the Word says.

Because of the Old Testament. Some people--almost exclusively Christians--believe that because it violates their god's old laws supposedly set down "thousands of years ago," it violates aaaall of society and turns it evil and corrupt.

... Right. This from a religion that was literally spread by force. "Convert to Christianity or we kill you." Don't believe me? Read up on the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, the works of the conquistadors and Jesuits...

So rather than allow two consenting adults to love each other in a legally-recognized marriage (marriage isn't a Christian value, sorry. :D It was around loooooong before your "savior" supposedly lived), they declare it evil and that anyone who thinks that people should live in a loving, legal partnership is a part of the "Homosexual Agenda" and is going to this hell place they say that everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus is going to burn in.

Their hell. They can burn in it. Leave the homosexuals alone: They want to love each other in a peaceful, legal relationship.

Know what it provides? Legal benefits. Tax benefits. Insurance benefits. The ability to visit each other in intensive care.

Not that you care, right? Because they're "evil homosexuals."

That's society. Poeple love to discriminate and judge others, even if they don't admit to it. I am guilty of the crime myself (I try not to be though...) Gay and Bi people are different so naturally, it's wrong in society's eyes. People think that since you aren't like them, you're wrong. And that's wrong. My mom is part of that society. She thinks that being gay or bi is wrong for two reasons: it's disgusting to her and, as in her own words, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." I hate that mentallity. If you are going to go and use something from a book, such as the Bible, than use it with your friends who believe in that. Some people believe that the Bible is a crappy joke made thousands of years ago and fabricated with lies. (No offense to y'all christians and Christ-followers. Just stating my opinion.)

I know that a lot of people would prefer if there were no objective Truth out there, but the fact is, that there IS such a thing. While you may not see the problem, that doesn't change the fact that this behavior is risky, even life-threatening. God only tells us 'no' for our own good.

We need to emphasize that what happens in ones bedroom, is not any business of government or church!

Marriage is a committment between two people!

It's not wrong. It harms no one.

And, hey, it even makes the narrow-minded fundie Christians happy because they get to feel self-righteous.

Just like this answer will let them feel persecuted and put upon. Poor things.

In da Bible, God clearly states that it is a demonic spirit. God made men and woman to sleep together; not men and men or women or women. its not that people are discriminating, its just that we're trying to get the truth out there before they homosexuals go yo hell.

It is a sin because God made man and woman to be the family unit to create children, to bond love. Anything else outside of sex in a loving committed marriage is wrong/sin. However HOWEVER and HOWEVER my sins are not greater or less than that sin. We all sin and I am not going to be the one to toss the first stone at someone, although I will witness to them about the saving Grace of Christ it the moment arises.
