I think anyone that read it, just wanted to jump on the "popular culture bandwagon". People who read it were trying to be cool. It's the same with Harry Potter.

Get the book "Da Vinci Code: Fact or Fiction" by Hanegraaff to learn about the historical inaccuracies of the DaVinci Code claims.

The da vinci code is easily disproved. In the movie, for example, it mixed up (mabye even purposely) the reason for the council of trent, the council of Nicea, and a few other ecumenical councils. Its laughably easy to rebuttle and just as easily is disproven. (but I wouldnt laugh about it, because its such a grossly wrong Heresy)

read the book, saw the movie, even read "Da Vinci Code: Fact or Fiction" by Hanegraaff ............. conclusion: Jesus (pbuh) is a prophet of Allah, but then again i knew that before dan brown wrote his book

loved the book more than the movie, by the way

EDIT: ok, seriously now ............ book is a fiction PERIOD

me believing that Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet is not a fiction .......... entitled to my own beliefs - be nice pls, no thumbs down for stating my opinion

I've answered this many times

Basically it is a badly written work of fiction, although with some okay puzzles and an interesting plot. Dan Brown is a bit of a hack writer, and he did steal his basic plot from somebody else, even though he won the lawsuit. He was lucky...rich, and lucky. There are lots of historical inaccuracies in it....lots of websites (both atheist and christian) that detail his errors.

It is based on an even more badly written work of fiction that has no discernable plot, the bible.

Why are we still talking about this?

I didn't read the book or watch the movie. I read the books that it was based upon - _Holy Blood, Holy Grail_ and _The Messanic Legacy_ in the late 80's. There are some interesting theories with no way to prove anything.

It was an okay book. I didn't see the movie. What has cracked me up are the people who think it is true. It is realistic FICTION meaning it didn't actuallly happen, but it is written as though it did. It did make me look up a few of the organizations that were mentioned.

A fictional book that has been treated as truth by many. I've heard people use information from the book to argue their points.

Interesting work of fiction. Historical inaccuracies but well written. Haven't seen the movie yet but I heard it was disappointing.

Interesting--------and true or not, we have decided (a group of us that are Catholic, Jewish, and Methodist) that it does make alot of sense. Jews followed G-d's law to be fruitful and multiply. A man who had reached 20 years old and not married, in that time---------well, there was something wrong with him. It is most impractical to think that Jesus never married.
