go to petfinder.com.....this is a site for rescue dogs.....just enter your Zip code, and be AMAZED at how many great choices you have !!.....i recently adopted a Great Pyrenees mix from them, and my dog Sylvester is awesome !!.....check it out.....try it.....do a good deed.....adopt a Coton de Tulear today !!!.....good luck to you, in your search for a Coton de Tulear as a new pet !!!!.....go to petfinder.com and look under Coton de Tulear, and ask all your questions to any of the rescue groups, that are listing these dogs !!!.....most adoptions run between $ 50 to $ 200 maximum, for a wonderfull dog, that will be very happy to be your new pet !!!

Coton de Tulears are not hyper allergenic. If you most have a dog that will not cause allergies, get a poodle or Bichon Frise. Here is a nice article on the Coton de Tulear breed: http://www.usactc.org/about/cotonwannabuy.shtml

The same website has a breeders directory:

Good luck in your search!

I live in NJ and could not find any choices of whom to get my Coton from. I ended up purchasing her from out of state and a reputable transporter (referred to me) took her on the plane, at her seat for the trip. Cost was reasonable. You would be surprised. If you want more info let me know how to reach you.

Hi, found this website that also links to a breeders list of breeders in the States.

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/cotondetulear.htm

I notice that it says that they shed little or no hair which makes them good for allergy sufferers.

The breeder of my Bengal cat also bred Coton de Tulear -- I met the most adorable puppy, with wonderful silky fur ... but this was over in the UK.

I was fascinated to find out that they are sometimes born with darker patches on their fur which fades out to white as they get older. (A bit like the reverse of Siamese kittens who are born white but who get colour as they grow)

Oh & they must be good with other animals ... after all, she bred Bengals too.

Aww, just look at that little face ...

Here's the info. And yes, they are good around allergy sufferers and might I add CUTE AS THE DICKENS.

Try www.petfinder.com or Craig's list.
