Yes, we must forgive him, but that does not release him from the responsibility, and consequences, of what he did.

Christ tells us to forgive our enemies, yes. What Saddam needs to do is repent of his sins to the Lord.
Look at the Amish in PA ,the great outpouring of forgiveness they showed towards the family of the man who killed their children. That's a true sign of a forgiving heart.

If he were truly repentant, we should forgive him. But that doesn't relieve him from being responsible for his action. It is written that "Whatsoever you sow, you shall reap." If I do something harmful to my body (like drinking booze) to cause my liver to fail, I may be truly sorry and ask God to forgive me for the years of abuse I have caused myself and invite Him into my heart. God will forgive me. There would be a change in my thinking and actions based upon the love of God and what God in doing now in my life. But I may also die from liver failure.

Every one deserves forgiveness. I am not saying that it is an easy thing to do; I find it difficult. Even with forgiveness, he has to own up to his behaviour & choices & take responsibility for it. TO W. BROWN: Don't apologize for mentioning the bible. The world needs more of it.

What would you forgive him for? If you are not from Iraq, I don't think he has anything to ask forgiveness for from anyone else.
I doubt he would ask for forgiveness from anyone, though. He's too proud.

Bleeding-heart liberals would immediately forgive and coddle this murderer.....that's because none of their loved-ones were Sadam's victims. I would not give it a second thought if I was to pull the lever to hang that bastard.

I would consider starting the forgiveness process right after I see 100 Kurds holding up a banner that says, "We forgive you Saddam, and love you as our rightful leader!" Yup, right after that

The bible says (sorry to bring out the bible..BUT) it does say to forgive so that we may be forgiven.
I think forgiveness should be given to those who ask, and who do not ask.
Do I think he should be let out of prison, no.
Please read up on the things he has done. He can apologize, get our forgiveness, but does he need to be out in the public?? NO!!
