I live in the midwest and needless to say, there isn't any NY-style pizza around here. Do any of you New Yorkers have a good recipe for true New York style pizza?? Thanks.

G'day Animal Mother,

Thank you for your question.

This is a recipe from Dom DeLuise's book Eat This and is claimed to his mother's recipe.

1 package dry yeast
1 cup warm water
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon olive oil

Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Place flour on a clean smooth surface in a mound with a well in the center. Add water-and-yeast mixture. Gather from the sides with a fork or fingertips. Working with hands, combine in a dough ball. Knead until soft, and smooth (about 15 minutes). Add flour as necessary. Placed in a large oiled bowl. Cover and put in a warm spot until about double the size. Punch the dough down, cut in half and roll
out on a floured board.

Makes two 10 inch pizzas.

Great with tomato sauce and cheese, and/or pepporoni, onion, peppers, anchovies, olives (black) etc., etc.

I have attached other recipes for your reference.

Hope this reminds you of New York City.

Regards

The Key to New York Pizza, believe it or not, is using NYC Tap water. It is brought to the City through more than 100 miles of, in some-places, 100 year old wooden piping. from the Catskill Mountains, in Upstate NY.
The water has a unique blend of Minerals and Microscopic Crustaceans.
That is why NY pizza is so different.

you should divide each and every thing by way of 12 and then multiply by way of 14. that ought to extend the dimensions of the dough slightly. do no longer be responsive to what you will possibly do with the eggs nevertheless. consistent with hazard merely use the comparable quantity and if the dough isn't moist sufficient upload slightly bit milk.
