For Dyffryn Ardudwy I think you mean Barmouth.

Some train services change at Machynlleth but there are also direct services from Birmingham New Street.

Here's an example of weekday services:

10.33 depart Birmingham New St - 14.01 arrive Dyffryn Ardudwy

12.33 depart Birmingham New St - 14.42 arrive Machynlleth
14.56 depart Machynlleth - 16.00 arrive Dyffryn Ardudwy

If you book at least a week in advance there's a return ticket for £22.00 (subject to availability)

Hi!
The best way to plan rail journeys in the UK is to use the National Rail Journey Planner at http://ojp2.nationalrail.co.uk/en/pj/jp

Looks like your journey will be via Machynlleth (wherever that is!), and will take a couple of hours.

Safe trip!
Pete
