I always wondered just forgot to ask hubby. People ask me this question and i never know lol. Its different for us wives who had never lived on base and he has only been in a year. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

MOS = Military Occupational Specialty.. a nice system to label a job in quick alpha-numberic manner. Used by the Army, Air Force, and Marines.

An individual may hold numerous MOS'... for their primary occupation, and then for subsequent qualifications and schools.

NEC = Naval Enlisted Code (similar to MOS, only numeric)

The MOS is the type of job you do in the service. Artillery would have a different MOS than infantry.
If in business a clerk may be MOS 123, and a boss may be 321 and a lawyer may be 213. Just a way to establish the job function.

MOS is his military occupational specialty -- it is what he was trained to do and his job function in the military. As he gets further training or is retrained, he may have other job codes or functions, so it is always changing/being added to as he continues on with his service/military continuing education.

His MOS is his job if he is an artilleryman his MOS is 13B. There are many jobs in large units. He could have a support MOS like 63B which is a mechanic.

Good luck tell him to stay safe.

11B is infantry, Artillery is usually 13 Series. If he is mortors (Small Artillery) he probably has a 11series mos.
