she takes the false teeth out and puts them directly in a glass of water. in the morning she takes them right out of the glass and puts them in her mouth. I imagine sitting in room temperature water for up to 12 hours is breeding a ton of bacteria. She never sterilizes them. She is very depressed and just doesn't care about safety precautions of any kind. I would like to find an article somewhere about how harmful this could be to her, because she won't listen to me. Maybe if I print it out and give it to her she will read it and take it more seriously.

This is probably one of the least harmful things she can do to herself. I would just give her some tablets to put in the water every night. She will appreciate you a lot more and probably be a lot more willing to do what you say if you come off trying to help instead of trying to put down. Also, even if you find an article, it will just tell you to put a disinfectant tablet in you water everynight.

Where would u like her to put her teeth? Buy her some cleaning tablets to drop in the glass of water so that the teeth get cleaned. U do not sterilize dentures, and the normal way to store them overnight is to soak them in water.

Hmm, she might not both reading the page either - if you bough her a tube of steradent tablets - or similar - and gave them as a gif for her to try - she MIGHT just like the mintyness to keep buying them?

Having said that, if she has done this for many years, then she has probably just developed a really strong immune system and it is fine for her

IF YOU CAN SPEAK TO THIS WOMAN AND TELL HE THAT DENTURES MUST BE CLEANED DAILY BY SOAKING THEM IN A DENTURE CLEANER LIKE POLIDENT OR EFFERDENT. THIS IS THE ONLY EFFECTIVE WAY TO RID THESE DENTURES OF THE PLAQUE AND BACTERIA THAT BUILD UP IN DENTURES. AT HE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM TO BE BRUSHED DAILY WITH BAKING SODA . OR BETTER YET JUST GET HER THE TABLETS AND SHOW HE HOW EASY IT IS TO CARE FOR THE DEENTRES.
