Well you sound Christian...
I guess the Anti-immigrants think that Christ was asking for the green card before loving anybody.

Well... I am an immigrant myself. I fell in love with an American and moved here. I never had any trouble people accepting me or my children. To me it was just common sense to adjust at the Americans rules, laws, language, I am raising my children being Americans, we don't speak swiss to each other if somebody is around us who does not understand our language. I don't expect special treatment, I just knew that when Ive got married that I've not just married my husband as also a new country, culture and mentality. Just that simple.
Unfortunatly not all immigrants think that way, but please dont put all immigrants in the same pott. I also think illegal is illegal
Oh by the way I am from Switzerland

Okay, first there is the issue of legal vs. illegal. And leaving aside that point, please keep in mind that in 99% of the cases people leave behind their country, their culture, their language, their loved ones and their lives for a very good reason. In my opinion there would be at lot less people forced to immigrate anywhere if world politics would be able to reduce starvation and poverty in the so-called third world. Of course nobody wants to welcome anyone that is not motivated to earn their livelihood through legal and honest work and efforts. The world has become such a small place and we need to be more open minded to what an immigrant can add to our way of life, culture, experiences and so on... Lastly I'd like to point out that only a small fraction of the population in the USA does not fall into the immigrant or immigrant-descendant category...

I do to if they are legal immigrants and not illegal aliens.
There's a huge difference in the application and meaning of the words. My state of Arizona has been of the front line of the border problem. Its costing AZ taxpayers more and more each day for our over crowded schools filled with the children of the illegal aliens, our Er's are going bankrupt from treating the illegals medical problems and not being paid. Our prisons are filled to capacity with illegal aliens that have committed crimes. No I don't feel very neighborly towards the illegal alien. The legal immigrant is welcome because they carry their own weight, pay taxes and add to this state not only take away as the illegal aliens do.

Do you mean a legal immigrant or an illegal immigrant or both? In a perfect world where illegals could carry their own weight and not throw their burden on the Americans, maybe people would see it that way.

ONLY if they came through our L-E-G-A-L immigration process. Are people that ignorant to the fact that there is an entire process where people come to this country legally????
Why the hell should illegals jump the line???? Through the legal process we screen for criminals, diseased, pedophiles, etc......that is why ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS should all be kicked out!!
We welcome LEGAL IMMIGRATION from all over the world, just not ILLEGAL Mexicans!

Absolutely! Legal immigration is both necessary and welcome, since it's regulated ... illegal immigration on the scale we see now is an invasion ... and I for one don't really think we should send out a welcoming committee to those who are hellbent on taking over this country .... do you?

I feel the same way. But when I think of illegal immigration I think of someone breaking into my house and stealing from me and my children. Can you honestly say that you would welcome someone invading your home and expecting to be rewarded for it, no matter how needy they are? We welcome legal immigrants, not invaders.

I think of 'follow the law of the land' and 'thou shallt not steal' and 'covet not anything that is thy neighbor's'.
However, if you mean legal immigrants, I agree with you.
