So, do you think abortion is killing a baby? Why? Or is abortion ok until a certain time of being pregnant because the baby isn't developed yet? Is it only ok to abort because of a rape or incest?

Ok, after answering that..... what do you think about this situation: baby with two heads:
This baby was born wth two heads. ('m watching now on discovery health channel.) The baby's extra head has a partal body. It has a spine, ribs, and distinct personality seperate from the baby. (see the picture: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6998205/... ) and this "parasite" has a fully functioning brain, emotions, and reflexes. They are connected at the head. Is this parasite alive? Yes, but is it wrong to kill it? It has no organs, but has a functional brain..... hmmmm. Tough one. So, what's you're oppinion about abortion contribute to this situation? This extra head has an ACTUAL brain and functions and emotions. Is this wrong to kill it?

YOU GUYS ARE MISSING THE WHOLE SECOND PART OF MY QUESTION!

Abortion is beautiful. Its the right thing to do!

The baby (which technically isnt even a BABY yet!!) doesn't even know what life is, doesn't know what death is. So why would it be bad to take away what the "baby" never had?

Second. I'm sure most people would appreciate it if you DIDN'T waste the world's resources with another child that could care less if it was born or not.

Third: Kill the thing with two heads.

I actually want to address the second part of your question first.
I'm really sadden by the photo of the little girl with the living "parasite", the word alone is disturbing enough. Do I think it's wrong to kill it, Sorry, but I don't. A brain will give the child thought, feelings, and emotions, but how long will it live? I don't see any limbs or organs that allow for survival. Something should have been done in utero, (unborn). It would have made for some ground breaking medicine. If the parent was in America where technology is at a more heighten state then in India, more options would have been presented to honor the development of the fully formed child. Does that make sense? Now that the "parasite" has been born, we come up against more moral questions. How about this, will this "child" have a happy, fulfilled life? I don't think so at all.
I don't preach death, I preach life and happiness and I think that is something people should take into consideration when presented with a situation like this.

The first part of your question will show the test of time and technology. I don't think abortion is killing a baby. It's terminating a fetus. What thought functions does a fetus have really? it only relies on instinct. Abortion is not a method of birth control and should be treated as such. In terms of rape, if a woman feels violated why would she want to keep an unwarranted child? Ultimately we need to give women more options and choices with child birth!

i personally feel that abortion should be legal up until the fetus has a heart beat. that's a decision that everyone should get to make for themselves. just like what religion you chose. the government should not be able to make those choices for you. i myself would never have an abortion unless my life was in danger. or in the case of incest. in the situation of having 2 heads, wow! that is a crazy situation! so this 2nd head, it can't talk, or function like a regular human being? only blink and smile. i don't know what i would have done if i was in that situation. i probably would have had the head removed. that's a really sad story.

edit: people say, why kill the baby, it did nothing wrong. in my opinion, if the baby does have a soul, and it did nothing wrong, then surely it will go to heaven, right? sometimes, it's best that they are aborted, because otherwise if they are unwanted babies, that are born into unwanted situations, they're just gonna be a huge problem that we have to deal with. it's not a positive thing. plus, if a woman wants to have an abortion, she could have her boyfriend just punch her in the stomach til she has a miscarriage, or use a coat hanger. making abortions illegal is not going to help.

At the moment Abortion to a certain amount of weeks is legall here in Australia .I believe That in most things we have the right to chose rape and incest is a very strong reason but I want to tell you a little more one of my daughter in laws made a big mistake and as you would say committed adultry this was because 1 man didnt care she was married and she had a minor argument with her husband and she accepted his advances and fell pregnant she already had 3 daughters my son was forgiving and took her back so she had a late abortion but they are back to gether and happy and she is a good mother just made this 1 mistake personally if she was my wife I would have never taken her back but that is the way i was brought up to be faithful to the end never cheating so I expect that from my partner .So in this case I believe abortion was justified.Part 2 .This a question answered with the advise of Surgeons as to the quality of life these joined babies will have only after this advise would the parents be able to make an informed decision and they should have the free will to chose what they think is best .This has absolutley nothng to do with anyone else .Now maybe you are Christian and dont believe in abortion that is there choice .My question to them would be if this was so bad why did not god put that in his bible after all he does talk about homosexuals in one sentence .And into addition to that he lets babies die himself why we do not know and never will .I worked at a cemetery where I saw so many babies dead in just that one cemetery where we have 2 very large ones where I worked and other small ones which I have only been as a morner .

first part, I'm fine with abortion if you don't want the baby then get rid of it there are too many suffering in foster homes these days. It is ok to have an abortion because you don't want a baby or because of rape and incest any reason will work for me, why have a baby and give it up or keep it and abuse it?

second part I would abort a baby with two heads why bring a two headed baby into a cruel world like this? People judge on looks more then they do character these days, whispering behind their backs because they are different I wouldn't put my child thru that ever, If I did bring a baby into the world like that and they weren't happy growing up I'd feel like it was all my fault.

I agree with abortions 100% I believe that is something a woman needs to decide for herself. Chances are that baby will not live, therefore it will kill the other child, it is a parasite living off the child and should be removed, This is also the parents choice some people would consider that head a twin a human, I however feel that in order to save the life of the child you need to remove the parasite...it may look like a child but is in fact a parasite.

I believe that abortion is murder any way that you look at it. If I had listened to the doctors I would not have a perfectly healthy 11 yr old today. That being said, I watched the same special that you are referring to. The parasitic twin in question did not have her own personality. It was just that, a parasite that was draining the life out of Menar. Had the surgery not been done to remove the 2nd head, that little girl would have died. As a result of waiting as long to remove the head as they did, this little girl now has permanent brain damage & is in a permenant vegetative state. This is truly a sad situation that should have been handled by doctors that knew what they were doing. The surgeons in Egypt obviously did not.

Abortion, I don't get it

It's a very personal choice and people need to let others make their own decisions.

Freedom of choice

keep it to yourself and don't force-feed your beliefs on others

Personally.. A baby is a big responsibility and if you are raped why should you have to raise a child for the next 18 yrs. Or give the child to adoption only to torment you for life that you have a child out in the world that you don' t know.

It's to much to ask of someone to deal with being raped and then add insult to injury, having to raise this unwanted child.

besides.. steap outside the box and look at things this way.. there are 6 billion people on here and the population is supposively going to double every 25 yrs..
we are already killing the earth and running out of room.

PART ll of your question....

it was the right decision to remove the parasitic head... for too many reasons to list.

be realistic here guys

Yes, abortion is killing a baby. It ends the life of the child. If it isn't a baby, what is it? It isn't a bug. It is human life. How does exiting the womb change that in any way? Abortion should only be an option if the mother's life is in danger. If rape or incest occur, that is not the child's fault. It is terrible, but why kill the child if it didn't do anything wrong.

The two headed baby: Doctors should determine which child has the best chance of survival. You save the one that's saveable. It sucks that these things happen.

God that is a whooper of a question honey.

I personally believe in abortion (ideally it would be nice if it never happened but this is the real world).

I think it should be up to mother and father (the two headed baby thing), whatever way i think that if an abortion takes place something good can come out if it such as stem cell research which hopefully will help others with disease and injuries.

Not everything is in black and white, is it?
