HIV testing is not routine and a signed consent form is needed before this test can be run.

Hi, if someone goes to the emergency room and they ares really sick, they try to find out whats going on with the patient,,
and in order to diagnose a condition for the patient ,and the doctor feels ,that a HIV test should be done,, (YES) ,,but only when the doctor orders it ,, (No) every time a person goes to the emergency room and blood test are done they will not be check for HIV,, and if a HIV test is ordered by the doctor ,, the doctor would discuss the test with the patient before its done..

It's not automatic, they may offer you a test, but it's not required. In the health care field they treat each patient as a risk for blood borne disease. Regardless of any test result they will wear protective attire and put anything with blood on it in a biohazard bag.

I don't believe they do, one of the main reasons is the "window period." The window period is the short time before the antibodies are made by the person's body. The most cost effective method of testing is this test. They simply treat everyone as if they did have it. Do NOT believe the virus can "hide" in the body for years, it cannot, but the rapid test only finds antibodies, not the virus itself.

i'm quite particular they don't because i imagine on the time there are more effective important issues to confirm out then once you've hiv, except that is something to do with the problem you went to the er for.

No, they need your permission. However, if a medical person has HIV, they have to disclose it. How unfair is that?
