Humanity is not going to dismiss religion all at once... It will dicipate slowly and surely. I doubt it will be dismissed entirely, especially since so many people are into religion. But it will eventually be illegal to speak about religion in any public place. The start of it has already passed. We have seen our Ten Commandments taken away, prayer is now taken out of school, people are working hard to get "In God We Trust" taken off of our money, they are trying to enforce where every school system will not be able to say the pledge of allegiance because God is sayed within it. It has already begun. It will just get worse, but I doubt it will dissapear alltogether. When it DOES become illegal, then look out because Jesus is on his way.

Dear Baltzy,

I think you will be present to witness the event yourself. It will be the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ! This day is known in the Bible as the "last day" or "Judgment Day". That day will also mark the end of time. We know from the Bible that the Noahich flood occurred in 4990 B.C. (Genesis 7). We read in 2 Peter 3 of that flood and then the Lord goes on to speak of the destruction of the earth by fire (end of the world). There is an interesting transition statement the Lord gives separating these 2 events..."But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a housand years as one day." Remember God told Noah that the flood would come in 7 days so if we add 7000 to 4990 B.C. we get 2011 A.D. Could 2011 be the year that the Lord will returns to this earth? All of those who were not in the ark were destroyed by the flood in Noah's day. All of those who are not in Christ on the last day will also be destroyed.

They almost explained it in the South Park episode last Wednesday, where Cartman awoke in the future after some event proved there was no god.

Maybe they'll reveal some crazy plot this Wednesday? The episode planned is the continuation...

The religious continue to believe in spite of all of science and evidence, so I don't think they'll ever stop, unless somehow we prevent them from indoctrinating their children as a human rights violation.

I think information such as the INTERNET will be the biggest blow to organized religion and the meditation groups with Gurus or Masters. which are really religions using the "word" spirituality.....True sprituality (as in a relationship inside with spirit) will gain in "importance" as realigions and Pyramidal theocratic and autocratic structures decline. These are still mostly male dominated, and even if women take them over, the pyramidal structure is corrosive to the spirit. A relationship with the Divine or the "deeper self" is what we want and desire, not a relationship to a structure, Mission, church or Meditation group.

Religion has its place in dealing with the real needs of people. If people want to be of service to their fellow man/woman, they can fee, clothe, shelter, offer companionship, service etc...That way they will not be spending all their time "proselytizing' and preaching at and might be talking to or with. How about a dialogue rather that a 'diatribe" or a sermon.

Leprosarium (leprosy) were replaced by sanitarium (tuberculosis) which were then replace by Mental hospitals or places for the current illness or disease. Maybe the churches can be use as shelter for the homeless. Or for meeting places for the poor to go and meet the "do-gooders" and just "hang out" rather that be "ritualized", preached at or converted.

Everyone says that if we encounter alien life forms and if they are 'superior" to homo sapiens on earth, that it will bring down religions, The finding of "dynosaur" bones did not cause any major "exodus" from the religions and that is pretty major.

I would like to think that People will eventually understand that religion is myth and rituals of the past. The claims of reaching heaven or of Become "divine" is not evidenced in the amount of people still dying of starvation, disease, war, etc...as people still go to church and pray or meditate with the idea that they are doin their share for "mankind"...

We're due to eradicate ourselves from nuclear war sooner or later. That will get rid of religion, and humanity for that matter. (At least until the cockroaches evolve, and come up with a religion of their own.)

Religion will never be dismissed. Religion helps husbands control their wives and that is something the world needs. Can you imagine what this world would be like if there was no control over women?

When Jesus comes back to reign for the millennium. Those that hate God and have murdered the Saints and Prophets are dealt with.

After the reign, satan is loosed & turn people against Israel & God's people, & will be dealt with again. Then comes the Great White Throne Judgment where Jesus (as Son of God & Son of Mankind) sits in the judgment seat.

National rulers will totally destroy the religions of the world

The Bible points to this outcome. Throughout the centuries, false religion has been deeply involved in the political affairs of the nations, even though Jesus said regarding his true disciples: “They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.” (John 17:16) Because of hobnobbing with the world, false religion is depicted in the Bible as a prostitute, or harlot, who has not been faithful to God. A Bible prophecy says: “Come, I will show you the judgment upon the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication.” Revelation 17:1, 2, 18.

This “great harlot” is thus like a woman caught selling sexual favors in return for high-level influence in government. Her punishment fits the crime. God will cause a sudden, foreboding change of heart among her former lovers. The Bible explains that the kings, or political rulers of the world, “will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire. For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought.” Revelation 17:12, 16, 17.

The evidence is undeniable. It shows that this world’s religions are not a true force for peace and security. And they have left their followers ignorant of the true hope, God’s Kingdom. What, then, does all of this signify?

End of World’s Religions Nears

Jesus Christ stated: “Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.” The bad fruitage produced by this world’s religions proves that they are not of God’s planting. Thus, the Bible foretells the coming destruction of all false systems of worship.

Speaking of these religious systems under the symbol of the harlotlike “Babylon the Great,” God says the following regarding the worldwide empire of false religion: “Her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind, in one day her plagues will come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire, because Jehovah God, who judged her, is strong.” Revelation 18:2, 5-8.

Note that this destruction is to come with surprising suddenness, as “in one day.” To the surprise and dismay of many persons, false religion will be brought to ruin, destroyed, by the very political nations with whom she has long played the harlot. Revelation 18:10-17, 21; 17:12, 16.

Therefore the divine call is: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
Taking such action means that one sees false religion as God sees it. It means that one detests it for its rotten fruits, its hypocrisy, and its superstition. Disgust should be felt for the way false religion has misrepresented God before mankind and for the way it has contributed toward the suffering and oppression of the people.
