We are leaning more and more into having our wedding outside of a church- but not on someones lawn. We have about 125-150 people coming, and plan on having a reception indoors.

Has anyone had their wedding (not destination) outdoors? If so, where?

I married previous in my grandmother's back yard as this was basically the family home where all good memories where when younger. Am getting remarried next May and we are marrying at a Hotel outdoors again. My fiance and I live about 2.5 hours from one and other and so are marrying about centre from both of our cities so it is fair to all guests to only have to travel half way. Wedding to take place outdoors then reception and meal to follow indoors. Good luck in your wedding planning and hope all works out great for you and your fiance.

I have been to weddings held at public parks, winery/orchards, lakes, and on the beach. Most public parks have some area that is nice and scenic. You just have to have someone "hold" the spot for you. Sometimes, your local parks and recreation office will "reserve" an area for you for a fee. (my friend just had her brother set up chairs where they wanted to do the ceremony. No one bothered the area and best of all, IT WAS FREE!!!)

On the prettiest weddings was at an orchard/winery. I was during the spring when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. It was beautiful!

Congratulations and Good Luck!!!

Just about anywhere you can imagine; Garden, house, farm, ship, (& no captains can NOT marry a couple) museum, bed & breakfast, hotel, park, country club, even the place where the reception is being held. In fact, I'm performing such a wedding in about 3 weeks.

You can rent a mansion with an incredible backyard, that would be fabulous...I hear that some people get married in upscale hotels in a garden.

I had mine at a botanical garden. You can try there. Or if there is a park near by.
