GREAT QUESTION and I have asked Yahoo and they had no response and they do not monitor what is written unless it is reported as abuse. The better question here is, where are these kids parents at that they do not monitor their own kids online. Shame on them

Yeah - me too. Except that I disagree with your last statement. Yahoo is not responsible for these minors - most of them lie about their ages. I had one on my Blog who said she was 18 when she was only 13. She actually had the nerve to ask me why I wanted such a young friend when she was the one who wrote to me!!!!! Hell - I've got grandchidren almost old enough to be HER mother.

It looks safe enough. And people tend to be reasonable on here. Also many parents supervise their kids and they are aware of what is what. Chill out a bit and have fun.

I can't answer your question, but am in complete agreement with you. Similar categories could be set up for teens and it would be better for all.
