Don't listen to the haters. Call your local Immigration department and talk to them about it. If they hem and haw, call your congressman and complain, you have the right to have your husband with you here in both your home! That's right, his home too! He needs to get a card based on being married to a citizen now, and you may need to even call a lawyer and talk to one (see if they can "speak to you free for a consultation"). Just look in the phone book under Attorneys in the Yellow Pages, the Ads should say, "Immigration and Naturalization" or something like that, perhaps "Visa" or "Green Card" and then make an appointment. It may cost some, but isn't the fact that all the paper work will be done "correctly and it will be over with" worth it?

Also, don't forget, your elected officials such as your congressman or woman owe you! and you should call upon them for help when needed against the Immigration department or whomever!

Good luck!

Only by going back to his country and applying for a visa at a consulate there. If he stays here and gets busted, he will get excluded from the United States for at LEAST five years, regardless of whether you have kids together or not, and regardless of whether you will have to go on welfare or not. Also, be careful. Illegal immigrants love to marry citizens and then divorce them after they get permanent resident status, so that they may then bring the person they really love to the US. You could be getting screwed in more ways than one.

Let's hope not. Maybe your citizenship can be revoked. Would you then be deported to your spouse's country with him or her ? That would be a good fix to the bogus marriage scam. If it is "true love" you would be willing to do this. People ( not you, necessarily) playing this sort of scam, are responsible for , at worst, terrorists getting a foothold here, and at least, a drain on the tax payers, and as one , I resent the abuse that so often occurs in status by marriage.

No. He needs to leave the country, then you can apply for a visa for him to come and live with you as your husband. However, he can't convert from an illegal status to a legal status - he has to start from the beginning.

Why don't you move to his country and apply? I am sure that you will love their view of illegal immigration.
