That is what our pastor preached on today. Our place in God's history. He made each one of us with a purpose, either to make on little line on history or a great big paragraph. It is up to us to pay attention and be used according to his purpose.

Just like the widow with the 2 mites 1/4 of a penny, in the bible, gave all she had. She didn't do alot in the eyes of man, but in the history of God became a lesson for mankind.

I hope that I will find out if I have made a change for someone someday that was a help in their learning of eternity.

I am just some debris left over from the big bang, my parts having traveled the universe throughout countless light-years and through various contrivances like suns, planets, molecules, proteins and life itself. And from those vast complexity arose the most unlikely arrangement - my brain - from which arises my consciousness. My highly unlikely arrangement took is some 13.7 billion years to make.

And now that I am here, my body is a DNA producing machine, shedding DNA in a wide variety of ways until I ultimately seed the earth with my body when I die. Some of my DNA will survive this planet's destruction and get disbursed as more organized space debris, to some future inheritor to answer this question again.

Hopefully, my kids (one 7, one on the way)

As an additional bonus, there's this project I'm working on. I'd like that to succeed. It's going OK so far, though a little slow.

Finally, I helped persuade a close friend (the planet's kindest man - I defy you to produce anyone like him) to pull his finger out of a dark place, and propose to the girl of his dreams. They got married six weeks ago. THAT felt good. Hope they have happy kids who will live like their pops. Not exactly history, not exactly my place in it, but I hope it helps.

Well history is never judged by the individual as they are living it, it will be judged after I am gone. All I can do is live the best life possible, do my best for my fellow human beings and hope that history judges me kindly because of it.

The truth is I am the one who filled the triangle with the nine gifts of the Spirit. A little bit of self-control leads to a whole lot of love.
It's a relationship thing. If you excercise self-control with gentleness and are faithful that creates the goodness required to allow you the grace to be kind and patient. That brings on peace and both of you have the joy of love.

If not consistently blocked by those unwilling to make progress I might have made a bit of a footnote in the voluminous annals of history:

I can only try my best to make sure that those who knew me remember me as a man of integrity, honesty and grit. That I loved my family, treated those around me with respect and fairness and that I did my best to not do harm.

As to a larger picture, I will be just another nameless tiny cog in the machine that is humanity. But that matters less to me than the rememberances of those who knew me.
