No, sperm can only last outside of the body for a very short period of time. Also, our tap water is filtered and chemically enhanced. That alone would kill any living organism in it.

Side note: I am very thankful that we can't get pregnant from tap water, we are already over populated.

Tap water goes through a process before it comes out of the tap - there are chemicals in there and it is likey that the sperm - and it is highly unlikey there would be any - would not survive. Also, in order for a woman to get pregnant the sperm have to swim up the fallopian tube to meet the egg - this is quite a feet for any sperm therefore in the freekish chance that a rogue sperm made it into the tap water (perhaps by a man ejaculating into the toilet????), survived the chemicals and processing and the change in temerature it would still have to swim to meet the egg - if this ever occured this would be like a "super sperm"!!!!!. Also, imagine how may women would be pregnant if live and "good quality" sperm was active in the tap water.

I have a feeling someone had sex in a pool, bathtub, or other body of water here and isn't fessing up to it.

No, tap water from your fawcett does NOT contain sperm. It has to go through so much filtration and cleaning that even if a few football teams started jacking it off on the other end of the water tanks, it still would not be directly poured into your drinking glass...

However, Yes, you can still get pregnant from sperm in water - although small chance depending on the amount of water...

Yes, you can still get pregnant after a man ejaculates inside of you and you take a bath. It does NOT wash it all out.. douching doesn't either...

Sorry folks for the TMI info, figured this was a younger persons question and needed to set it all straight :)

Is sperm in tap Water?

Don't know about the sperm thing, but how do you put water through your vagina? That really would take some doing. Sperm only last a few days so the likelyhood of the sperm travelling with the water, being treated, surviving and making it into your tap within a day or so with enough energy to bother impregnating you is quite improbable.

No No and No........The only way sperm would get into tap water is if 1 billion men ejaculated at the same moment, into the local water supply and that source of water reached your vagina w/in minutes of ejaculation and you had physicians standing by to perform artificial insemination.

And even then, no.

A lot of couples think that getting pregnant is an easy task. They think that they can hold off being parents until their late 20s or early 30s and still get pregnant. Here's a fact: by the time you reach 30, you only have a 50-60% chance of becoming a mother. This is not to say that you should become parents right away, but chances become slimmer as time passes by. But it is not entirely impossible, so don't despair. Here are some tips on how to get pregnant fast.

First, get yourself a pre-conception checkup. By doing this, it will prepare you for the other tips on how to get pregnant fast. Set up an appointment with your doctor to tell your plans on conceiving. This will help them determine whether you have past medical issues that might affect your pregnancy. Your doctor will probably ask you to start taking folic acid. Why? To get pregnant, you need to think you're pregnant. The power of the mind is really an incredible thing. Also, this reduces the risk of neural tube defect when you give birth to your baby.

Second is to change your lifestyle. As mentioned earlier, you have to start thinking for your baby instead of just you. If you are a coffee drinker, you should start giving it up. Some studies have indicated that caffeine may contribute to fertility problems. Also, it can restrict the growth of your baby once you are pregnant. If you regularly exercise, you should start reducing the amount of hours you devote to it. Stress can lead to failed conceptions and by reducing the stress level, you increase your chances of getting pregnant.

So far we've covered easy tips on how to get pregnant fast. Now, we'll discuss the fun tips on how to get pregnant fast. When it comes to love making, add a little bit of excitement by switching rooms or adding toys. This will help your body feel more relaxed and therefore add chances to a successful conception. Also, during the days when the woman is fertile, try to have as much sex as you can. The more times you do it, the more chances you have to get pregnant.

These are some of the many tips on how to get pregnant fast. There is so much material available but hopefully these simple and fun steps will pave the road to your dream of becoming a parent.
