I think it depends on the student. Some kids who get easily distracted and need more time to understand material probably should avoid television on school nights. For others who can get their homework done and get their studies out of the way can probably watch television and do well in school...its all up to the kid.

not always. i NEVER watch TV on a weekday, but on the weekends i try to watch only one or two hours. my grades aren't lowering, but if you watch over the weekday, it takes away from your concentration. it also makes you think about it, and wrecks how you think. It also may get in the way, when you're supposed to be taking a shower and you're watching TV, that's less time to do homework so you'll have to stay up later and the next day you'll be all grumpy......yeah!

There is a story that waching on tv afects the brain. Because when we look to TV we are not be aware (in every secound) of fact that what we see isn't it real, it produce a lake of balance between the two emisferes of the brain.

Depend of the programs and hou many time this student is in fornt of TV, depend of what kund of use you can arrange with what this kid see on TV, for example: you could try to use the themes of TV to have conversations and to help the kid to get his own conclusion. I am sorry for may poor english!

Not having any stats at hand on this, but it makes for a good argument. I imagine it would be highly probable--those students are not studying or stimulating their minds with other activites as much as they should be.

it matters to who the student is but if you watch more than 2 hours your eyes hurt and can not concentrate on your homework

yes because they don't spend any time on their studies and only watch TV. that decreases their intelligence because they aren't stimulating their brain and are wasting their mind.
