Plain, unflavored, unsweetened yogurt with a live culture thinned with water can be used as a therapeutic douche. Eating yogurt will help with prevention.

Someone referred to yeast infection as being caused by bacteria. This is grossly incorrect. It's a yeast infection called vaginal Candidiasis that is caused by the fungus (not bacteria) Candida albicans.

I definitly agree with Shojo....Yogurt at your local grocery store that contains the acidophilus bacteria in it. Most yogurts do contain that and even some say it right there on the label that is has the acidophilus live culture. This is the most natural way to help with your yeast infection. This is the same stuff they will prescribe you if you go to get a prescription. This is a cheaper alternative to other things out there, but you could also try monstat. Ingesting yogurt helps but a faster way would be to directly apply it whereever its itching. Sounds weird but hey, its tried and true.

Vinegar and water use to be the old stand by for women but usually as a doche.
A true yeast infection needs to be treated with medicine that we don't have in our homes and is usually prescribed by Dr's.
There is a product now a days called Monostat that can be purchased but it's effectiveness I am not sure of as I have never tried it.
Any home remedies that might be passed down are ony temporary solutions and short lived as they will not kill the bacteria that is causing the infection

Go to the drugstore and get a box of Monistat. It works like a charm, it should also include an external cream for the itching. I heard that yogurt works but never tried it.

Yogurt with live active culture. The active cultures DO kill the excessive yeast. My gynecologist told me this years ago. There's no need for expensive medications when a natural remedy works as well, even faster.

take natural yogurt or sour milk and apply as much as you can on the rush on the vagina ,it will definitely relieve the burning itchiness. but you have to the chemist and be given medication to get read of this infection. these are very common in women especially those who are pregnant , if you use tampons then you have overtime with it inside or old people who are just about to reach menopause. good luck

Why does it have to be something in the house. Do the sensible thing and buy some Canesten cream from the pharmacy.
