They have access to most everything we have here. I would send them a nice Christmas card with a personal note. This way they won't feel obligated to send you something.

California has many things that's not in Korea.
small books of California native flowers/ nature/ cactus/ wild life, along with some pressed flowers will be a great gift.
Some native Indian crafts will also be good.
Christmas is one of biggest celebrated holidays in Korea. Some classic Christmas music or movies in original English version will be cherished.
Picture of Christmas in California with people wearing light cloth will be neat, for it's cold, cold during winter over there.
USA stamp / coin collection is welcome gift all year long.

I think probably music CD will be best. honestly, there are not very many things you can get that they don't have in korea. Nowadays, they are lot more "americanized" and even have starbucks in every coner of the street like in the states. by the way, anything tiny and cute is more abundantly available in korea than US.

A hand written letter with a few pictures of yourself, friends and family inside. Perhaps a copy of your local newspaper too.

Send them something authentically American, that way they'll see the differences between what they have in their country and what America can produce.

south korea is way cooler than the united states. they adopt japanese things quickly and whats cool in japan now will be cool here 5 yrs from now. people never believe me but it always happens. they were doing emo years ago and now guys all want to wear their girlfriends jeans. i would be asking them for stuff and not bothering to send them anything unless they requested it.
