Marmite have a famous advertising campaign about either hating it or loving it. Traditionally it's spread on toast or used in sandwiches but people manage to find all sorts of uses.
Personally I've done the following and none have been too bad:
- Spread thinly on toast
- Have with Cheddar cheese in a sandwich
- Add to tomato pasta sauces for a little extra flavour
- Take a few big spoons and mix in a cup with boiling water - makes an interesting drink!

It is an "acquired" taste.
I just love Bill Bryson's description of it as "an edible yeast extract with the visual properties of an industrial lubricant."
In the North of England, where it is made (Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire) they do butter the bread (or toast) lightly first. Oh, and spread it very thinly: even an addict like me can't take too much of it at once.
There is actually a Marmite cookbook.
And finally, if you don't know this already, the pot on the label is evidently a French cooking pot, called a marmite.

Everyone's right with the toast and cheese, and small amounts or marmite. Try some mixed in with Baked Beans. (Only about a tea-spoon or so). My sister has the 101 Things to do With Marmite book, and there are some great recipes! Below are a few more ideas for you all to enjoy! Bon Appetite ;-)

Marmite is best on toast as a substitute for butter. Try to spread it thinly as loads of it is vile.
It's made of yeast extract and is very much an acquired taste. I like it personally but to some people it is the worst thing ever.

Marmite, It's supposed to be Good for you.
Try it with Cream Cheese, in fact if you mix it first with the Cream Cheese, then spread it on either Thin sliced or Medium Sliced Bread it's lovely.
A teaspoon of Marmite with a Packet of Philadelphia Plain Cream Cheese is what I use, 250gm size.
Try it.

Israel has left little question in my ideas that they intend to bomb Iran once accessible, as they for some reason imagine they are the in basic terms u . s . a . contained in the realm to be allowed nuclear capacity. Spread a very small amount - about half a teaspoon 2ml - on a slice of buttered bread or toast. Nice in a sandwich with sliced tomatoes.

what you mean how to prepare a marmite? do u want to make your own marmite? here in England we have already a ready to eat marmite, just spread them onto your bread just like butter. but if you want to make a real marmite, sorry have no idea.

I always eat it on my toast for breakfast but make sure you spread it very thinly most people put too much on, its nice to add it to stews if your a vegetarian but probably just a teaspoon or two.
