It doesn't. The only Scriptures that even remotely deal with clothing and women are:

"The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God." (Deuteronomy 22:5)

And

"In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;" (I Timothy 2:9)

The Old Testament law was fulfilled in Christ, and therefore, the requirement in Deuteronomy is moot.

Nowhere! There is nowhere in the Bible that says that women cannot wear pants. If you go to a church or a synagogue that preaches that women are bad to wear pants, it's because they have probably have been raised with that belief or that dresses on women, to them, is the traditional and proper way for a woman to dress. My opinion on this is if the occasion calls for it like a funeral, wedding, dedications, and religious services, it would be nice to wear a dress, not that you have to, but it would be nice. However, when it comes to casual, everyday stuff, I say: Wear pants and be proud!!

P.S. As for this certain religion you won't name, I suggest you should keep a wary eye on it, especially if the religion is supposed to be Christianity. For my perspective, the people shouldn't be worried about what women wear as much as how women could and should be good people. Here is a scripture verse from the Bible
"But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
When we all die, God is judge us for things we said, did, and thought. Appearance will not matter much then.

There is also religions that encourages people women and children to take their lives (heavens gate) for the cause or to kill people for the cause (manson, the crusades). It does not mean any of it is in the bible. People can distort the bible into anything they want it to say. Those religions or cults are just vises of control of not just that individual but also a group of people. Make a religion where the women wear no clothes at all I bet if your smart enough people will follow and you can move to utah or where ever you will not be persecuted for your believes and have a happy naked life

The Bible provides no detailed laws governing dress and grooming or the use of cosmetics, other than some specific clothing requirements imposed on the Jews by the Mosaic Law, which were intended to help them keep separate from the surrounding nations and their immoral influence. Within the Christian arrangement, dress and grooming are basically a matter of personal taste.

That is not to suggest, however, that God is indifferent to what we wear or that ‘anything goes.’ On the contrary, the Bible contains reasonable guidelines that reflect God’s viewpoint on dress and grooming.

The apostle Paul wrote that Christian women should “adorn themselves in well-arranged dress, with modesty and soundness of mind, not with styles of hair braiding and gold or pearls or very expensive garb.” Similarly, Peter counsels against “the external braiding of the hair and of the putting on of gold ornaments.

Are Peter and Paul indicating that Christian women and men should avoid enhancing their appearance? Not at all! In fact, the Bible mentions faithful men and women who used jewelry or cosmetic oils and perfumes.
Our dress and grooming should be modest and well arranged, the Scriptures encourage us to avoid any extreme styles that would offend others and bring reproach upon our reputation and that of the Christian congregation.

The Christian woman is warned not to let expensive, showy dress or style be the thing she seeks but, rather, to let her clothing be modest, yet well arranged, showing soundness of mind. She should, therefore, give attention to her dress but should put the primary stress on the apparel of a quiet and mild spirit.

most will tell you Deut 22:5 which was stated. I do not wear pants, but it is more because of 2 Corinthians 6:17.
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord..." When people see me in a dress they see I am different and not like everyone else. If you don't have a conviction about pants then wear them.

The question is punctiliously moot. Pants did not exist 2000 years in the past. They began as leggings worn by technique of horsemen about 1100 years in the past. finally both leggings were given stitched into one garment, in English referred to as trousers. yet this became 1000 years after Deut 22.5 became written. that is an same as some quack putting ahead wearing a kilt is an abomination depending on an same verse. decrease back even as it became written everyone wore skirts, leines, or different "non-trouser" like clothing.

no where. it does say that a woman should not wear mens clotheing. but if you look at the arab wortld you would see they all wear dresses. my dad said girls should not wear trowsers as they are mens clothes but if you put the text into context it could either mean a woman should not wear clothes a man has been wearing or should not try to impersanate a man. the same in reverse for men not to wear womens clothes. sorry I do not know where off hande but it is old testiment exiduse or duteronomy I think

It doesn't. However there is a Bible verse that says something to the effect that women should not dress as men or some such. I will try to find it and update my post.

I do not ascribe to this view as I consider it too much akin to legalism rather than grace.

"A religion" can teach anything it wants to, and we know much of it is false. However, the Church Christ founded, the one He said would teach the fullness of truth, does not teach any such thing. Therefore we can know with confidence that the wearing of modest pants is acceptable. And, since the Church founded by Christ allows for such dress, the book compiled by that same Church certainly would not say the opposite.

It only writes in the bible that women should dress like women (modestly) and men dress like men (modestly). There shouldn't be confusion if a person is male or female.

Mens clothes can be found in the mens department & womens clothes can be found in the womens department.
