sure,my girlfriend does it all the time and our mic.dont have a defrost button either.heat itself will defrost it,just dont leave it in too long.

where'd you buy your microwave an antique store?..im just wondering haha, coz my moms had her microwave since the mid eighties and thats got a defrost button on it! :) I would do what the second person said, but if you havent got a defrost button you probably can't adjust the temperature also...
