I've heard arguments like that from hardcore Fundamentalists, but really, why go around running away from reality? Some places serve liquor, and that's part of life. Drinking, if not done to excess, is not a sin. In fact, my church serves beer and wine at its own fundraisers, and has for ages.

Going to any establishment is not going to ruin your reputation if you are respectable. Think about the last supper. Did Jesus not pass the cup (with wine) to His disciples and tell them to drink? The first miracle recorded was turning vats of water into wine. Some denominations want you to abstain from drinking alcohol and that can be seen as commendable and a strength in character. However, your relationship with God is your personal business. If you sin, the Holy Spirit will convict you. Take the time to study not just your specific denominational beliefs but those of others in the Christain faith and even those throughout the world. You will be a better person for it all together.

I think it is fine to eat there. However, if you believe it is wrong to drink liquor, just don't drink. Have a soda, or some water, and enjoy your stake. I don't think you should sit at the bar, or got to a bar where all they serve is alchohol, because that would give the wrong impression, but any play they allow people under 21 is fine. Some people get way to caught up in rules and enforcing them, but sense there is nothing in the Bible agains Texas Road house, I think you are ok. I personally don't see a problem with people who drink in moderation. That is how i interpret what the Bible says about alchohol. It never actually says you can't drink (jesus and the deciples drank wine remember) it just says don't get drunk and act like an idiot ( or something like that)

It is O.K. to Drink Alcohol according to the Bible.
It is NOT O.K. to Abuse Alcohol.
It is not o.k. to show GODs Little Children things that can (possible Could) Hurt Them UNTILL they grow up to a Point (Spiritually) that they Know what is Going on.

Growing up Spiritually, is Kinda Like Raising up a Child in the World.
The Kid has got to get Old Enough to Understand the Ends and Outs of Things (be able to Handle it) befor you Teach it to them.
Incidentally, this happened to me when I was GODs Little Kid.
Struck me real Hard, but with my Past I (and GOD) Reasoned Things out.
I would just confine my Drinking Alcohol between GOD and Yourself (at Home) if your Worried about a Bad Testimony or maybe Giving a Child of GOD some Ideas that he,she can't Handle Yet.

GOD Bless and Ditto.....................
No, I don't drink no more, it would be O.K. to, but with my Past it might Suck me into more than I can Handle. Temptations not to quite once I start
Still there.

If you're not doing the drinking, what difference does it make? Why are there so many rules imposed in Christianity? Why should you even have to ask a question like that? You can't sin by association - just being there can't possibly affect you. There are very few good restaurants that don't serve alcohol.

You can go to restaurants and eat at these type of places. That will not ruin your testimony. If however, you drink liquor or wine or beer and it is a weakness for you or someone that you are with, then this and only this will ruin your testimony, for it will cause someone else who may have problems will alcohol to stumble.

Whether you drink or not has nothing to do with your testamony which is the your story of how God has changed your life. If you still don't want to drink it shouldn't limit where you go. Almost every place sells beerand wine. Are you going to avoid going place at all. Of course not. But even Jesus drank wine. It didn't ruin His testimony any.

Someone with a rigid, unyielding, unforgiving, and semi-blind sense of morality is handing you advice. If the only thing you can witness to in Christianity is the uncompromising sense of rules, the joyless following of laws, then you will have no message worth hearing to share.

Go order a steak, have a good time. Even drink a beer or glass of wine now and then.

Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of god is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the holy spirit. if you serve Christ with this attitude you will please god. and other people will approve of you too. so then let us aim for harmony int he church and try to build each other up.
The best place to find answers is always gods word. there is so much in Romans about eating and drinking and it being an offense to god or others. if you were to go in to the restaurant and there was someone there that it might offend then it is up to you to decide lovingly not to offend or cause someone to stumble by what you are doing, but that is not saying it is wrong in the eyes of god. it is just not giving your brother or sister or someone new in Christ reason for resentment or judgment. you know its funny john the Baptist was accused of being a drunkard as well as Jesus. john the Baptist never drank while Jesus did. his first miracle was to turn water to wine. the best wine served at the wedding. Jesus hung out with the sinners. by doing that he was able to share his gospel with all kinds of people. it is not where you are it is who you are . you are a child of god.

I think if it's a regular restaurant that serves liquor there's nothing wrong with it. If it's a bar atmosphere more bar than restaurant I wouldn't. While you'd be fine I'm sure in such a place it would hurt your witness. It could be misleading to a young Christian or turn off someone who may convert cause of what they see in you. Doesn't seem fair I know but we have to be careful not to offend.
