I studied in Israel and took a course called "The land of the Bible" We studied the different areas of the country and then visited them. It was great historically. But spiritually it was no different than walking around in my backyard. Jesus walks with me (spiritually) every single day whether I am in Israel or in America. I admit I love the country now that I've been there and would go back in a flash, but its not some mystical experience because "I walked where Jesus walked" its just a cool place to be.

I got to walk this area. But, I didn't think about Jesus. To me, it was the Land of Israel, and all the history of my people overwhelmed me. I cried and cried at the Western Wall, and felt so much of a belonging at Masada. I'd really like to go back there to live.

Why don't you go to visit? I do not know where you live, but I see churches and synagogues offering package trips for as little as $3500, from the USA.
