why does warm air ruin food?

Bacterial growth is slowed down at below 40F. That's what keeps food fresher longer.

Refrigeration keep food fresh by keeping it cold by cold air and not leting the warm air come in to spoil the food.

food decomposes because of the micro organisms living on it and these microbes need certain conditions to live and reproduce fast- warmth,dampness and nutrients. when food is put in a fridge the warmth is taken away therefore prolonging-not stopping the decomposing process xxx
