Well this is not really against it, its a comment to the other answers. We have , some more than others, what you call magnetism. Some do not know how strong it is. But remember that our mind is the most powerful thing we can use. Peace and love to all.

What is real to a baby? It is the things they touch. Think of one of the first things a baby would touch, like he might touch his rattle. Does the baby think, ”now this real – something I can sink my gums into”.
When a baby cries, is the crying body real or the being inside that feels the need to cry? From our perspective, the two are indistinguishable, but to the baby he is crying for a real reason, he may be hungry, tired or insecure. He does not even think about real, to a child everything in his head is real. The monster under the bed is as real as his mother.
As we get older, we learn to integrate our inner thinking with our outer world. But the essence of the situation that exists with the baby, continues to haunt us. Our thoughts are still indistinguishable from reality.
As we get older we learn that our thoughts are not real, but when you talk to that guy that that just stepped off a curb and was hit by a moving bus he might say, “I didn’t see it coming”. How can someone not see a 75 foot bus? In his head, in his mind, the road was clear. Just like in the child’s mind there is a monster under the bed. To the guy who was hit by a bus, the outer reality and the inner reality were “out of sync".
The person who wants to to give the Evil Eye the power to control their life is creating the excuse to step in front of the bus.

It's a fallacy to try to prove the nonexistence of something.
