Please do not take offense i am just curious. Here is my question. A lot of people do not believe in certain adult relations before marriage and thinks its a sin to do before marriage, okay heres where i am curious, does this mean you will not watch hollywood movies that have adult relations in them if the characters are not married ? Because if you did and enjoyed the movie wouldnt it be a sin for you? I was just wondering, please no insults! I love God.

According to the Sunday School teacher at my mom's church yes it is. According to me who believes that healthy doses of hedonism are completely acceptable as long as used with restraint and control, enjoy yourself.

Different beliefs are healthy, just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. It's fiction and that's all there is to it. Then again according to the bible if you feel lust while watching them then you are commiting a sin because Jesus said that sin began in the heart. More reasons why I left Christianity a long time ago.

The act of sin begins with a thought. If you desire to honor God and not have relations with a man until after you are married, then do not go to the movies. This is opening yourself up to temptation. All of Hollywood is corrupt----it is where the throne of Satan rests. There is nothing good that can come out of there.

If all sinful behavior was removed from dramatic works, I daresay that movies would be pretty darn boring.

You don't only have to worry about premarital sex in films. How about murder, stealing, etc? How about just plain being mean and spiteful to people?

I watch such dramatic works as seem interesting to me. If something is wrong, I use my morals and govern my own conduct accordingly.

Does that help?

From talking from experience I would say you should await to be married to be with your spouse to have sexual pleasures. The reason is that if couples did this and courted and showed respect to thier partner by staying away from sex until marriage. Then thier marriage would be happier and thier relationship will be much happier.
However, I doubt a true Christian woudl watch a movie or tv show with this kind of content in it. If there is a show that has it or a movie and we aren't aware of it then it's opt.

Another way to view that situation might be to imagine inviting those couples into your home and having them perform in front of you, whether that performance is romantic in nature or violent. If you would not want them to do it in your home, in person, than it is probably a bad idea to invite them into your home via television.

I always did wonder why showing a romantic, loving relationship on TV was always rated worse than gory, violent, blood and guts movie. I guess we just live in a twisted and crooked world.

Sin is merely a way that one group of people use to discourage behaviors that they deem inappropriate. It has nothing to do with religion. Religion is rather the tool that they use. If murdering is a sin, then why did God murder first born babies just because their parents were free thinkers. Why did God murder every living thing on this planet save the fish and those on the Ark. If God can sin, then why can't we?

If you do engage in premarital sex, enjoy it SAFELY!!!

I can't answer from my own experience; I have no problem with any type of sex as long as it is between consenting adults.

However, I will say that my Christian sister will not watch or read anything with premarital sex in it. She hunts the web for sites that sell "cleaned-up" versions of popular movies, such as "Titanic" with the scene in the car removed.

I can't comment on the wisdom of this, it is just what she feels is right.

I watch movies for entertainment, and try to avoid those that are offensive in nature.

Try to focus on God's will, and less on if "this or that" is a sin or not.

Well since I think it's o.k. to have sex before marriage, although not the wisest thing to do...but it's of course not a sin..I guess this question doesn't apply to me?

Be careful here -- Religion can and is used to control people ,and their thoughts here,,just as same as a gun or a law .This is not a insult--just a "truism"--- like>>"Icecream has no bones".
